NemoGrid or (New businessmodels On the Distributiongrid) is a EU project where Switzerland, Sweden and Germany is collaborating around the different possible business scenarios that are applicable to our future distribution grids.
The Energy transfomation is taking place at a furious pace. Solar energy has exploded, in Germany and in Sweden it becomes more and more interesting to install local energy solutions and also storage. In the 2016 energy agreement in Sweden we have set ourselves the goal of achieving an energy system based entirely on renewable energy sources. Now that our power grids are being transformed, we hope to create new business models and new ways to allocate costs for the future grids. Therefore we are part off this project.
The Project covers three main distribution grid scenarios:
- Centralized utility management
- Decentralized voltage/power based tariffs
- Peer-to-peer market probably based on the Ethereum or IOTA blockchain for energy transactions .
Through a practical approach with simulations and real connected systems the project will conduct tests with real customers in the grid “Upplands Energi” in the middle of sweden just north of Uppsala.
The project cover the preiod May 2017 to June 2020
